Habitat For Humanity Run/Walk

PROVIDENCE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH TO SPONSOR SIXTH ANNUAL RUN/WALK TO BENEFIT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COLUMBIA

Providence Presbyterian Church will host the sixth annual Habitat for Humanity Run/Walk on Saturday, October 18. The 10K run and 5K walk will start at 8:00 a.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church, just off Highway 378 in West Columbia.  Proceeds from the event will be used to fund construction of Habitat for Humanity homes in the Cayce/West Columbia area.

The annual run/walk that has benefited the Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity organization in the last five years.

The Habitat race is part of the Columbia Running Club's "Tour de Columbia," a series of races to promote running for fun and to assist the community by raising money for local non-profits.  The race will be run on a certified course in residential neighborhoods behind the church and leading out onto Hwy 378.  It will culminate with a pancake breakfast and awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

Adults and youth interested in participating in the run/walk should complete an event application by:

Registration is $20 per runner/walker until Oct 1; $25 from Oct 2-7. A special team rate of $15 per runner/walker is available for a minimum of five participants. There is no charge for children walking with a registered adult walker. Child care is also available at the church for runners/walkers during the event.

Providence Presbyterian Church is located on Hummingbird Drive in West Columbia; turn off Hwy 378 at the light by Jiffy Lube.
